NOTE: I thought this would be a good topic to explore, because it's seemed to be overlooked. A lot of the time we'll run a 1 stealth + 1 gunboat DD like a Grem and a Kamikaze. However we tend to do OK running 2 DD's (providing we are supported by the team) and stick together. I know we do well in 2 Belfasts quite often supporting each other and sharing smoke/sonar, but the Belfast is so OP it's broken LOL. Best answers yet!ĭoes this principle apply to 2 man divisions say a DD and a BB or a DD and a CA for example? Thanks, that make sense, because this way you are not relying on pubs to support you. You have everything you ever need to win whatever fight you pick right there.
#WORLD OF WARSHIPS 4 PLAYER DIVISION FULL#
It gives you flexibility, damage, vision, capping power and map presence.įor instance, the strongest T8 division I can think of is NCal, Benson, Kutuzov (although I actually think full Yankee Roleplay division with NC, NO and Benson is really strong too). CV, CA, BB also works if the gunboats have good AA. The best division comp is almost always BB, DD, CA. I have ~ 40 ships keepers, premiums, and ones I am grinding and try to play them all, so I am constantly using different ships every game, but I try to stick to a class for a session as much as possible because it generally allows you to focus on that play style congruent with each class of ship. We try to push and project force in BBs as much as possible, but the chickenshits on the team don't support us, don't focus fire, run off, and/or we get no DD to scout for us (despite asking them to do so or having them kek in 90 seconds). Where we generally run into problems is the 3x BB, because we've all seen so many of those infuriating games where the BBs sit in the back sniping barely moving and hoping for that 20 km hope to Jesus RNG guided citadel that comes once in a blue moon. We have used Belfast/DD or 2x Belfast combos to good effect alternating smoke and hydro. I'm not saying you are wrong and we do coordinate attacks, smoke use, who caps what ect via TeamSpeak when running 2x or 3x DD divisions mixing a Grem with a Kamikaze ect.
The goal should be synergy - leveraging strengths and covering weakness - 3 x Kamikaze is fun, but drop a Belfast and an Atlanta on the other team and you three are just in 10k damage purgatory for that match. Colorado, Gneissenau and a Nagato can actually work together well if they account for the Colorado's speed. 3 x BB's is okay if they fill different roles - Tanky BB drawing fire, secondary/AA BB holding center and sniper BB dealing damage and discouraging a yolo rush. You should also vary the DD play style - guns and torps versus 2 x guns or 2 x torps.
Even if you are bottom tier, you can still be effective.ģ x DD's is a bad combo in my opinion, only because you might end up getting in each others way if you all stick to the same map side. A stealthy IJN DD with torps ( say a Shiratsuyu ) paired with a DD killer like a Belfast is a great start - add a fast BB like the Scharnhorst or Gneissenau and you have a very effective strike team - especially if you are top tier. 3 x Belfast are very flexible, 3 x Colorado - not so much. You should bring ships that are capable of supporting one another, and not be exposed to a specific weakness if all three are the same.
